Tzviya Levin Rifkind

A few words about myself


I was born and raised in a religious moshav in the Galilee. After completing my national service, I began studying nursing in Haifa (Rambam hospital) and received my registered nurse certificate in 1986.

In 2007, I completed my BA in nursing summa cum laude from Tel Aviv University. I worked as a nurse for many years in a variety of areas: ICU, CICU, NICU, family health center, school nurse, community primary care clinic and autistic institution, among others.


Additional formal studies


I enjoy learning and have taken a variety of courses over the years, such as courses in life sciences at the Open University, urgent care for preemies, neonates, babies and children as well in courses in some domains of alternative medicine as well as workshops in clinical trials and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of pharmaceuticals, to name a few.

Professional experience

I began professional translating in 1998 and have worked full time from 2010. My main specialties are medicine and life sciences. In addition, in 2008, I was a guest lecturer at the University of Tel Aviv on the subject of medical translation. Since 2021, I have been teaching medical translation at Beit Berl College.


I am a member of the Israel Translator Association and a mentor in that association (in the field of medical translation) as well as a member of the American Translators Association (ATA).

Certificates

I am a Recognized Translator by the Israel Translator Association and have a Certificate of Proficiency in translation from ALTA (United States) and Proz's Certified PRO Network certificate.

My Hobbies

I love reading and languages, get pleasure from nature and animals, enjoy cooking and gastronomy and love to knit, to name a few.
